Generalizing aids for autonomy quickly and for the long-term
In June 2017, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole received support from the French Ministry of Territorial Cohesion and the Ministry of the Environment via the call-for-projects “Industrial demonstrators for the sustainable city.” The goal of this initiative is to innovate with adapted living conditions for seniors (connected homes), and an offering of connected services (applications), by enabling business stakeholders involved in the health field to set up their activities in the Montpellier Métropole area.
The industrial demonstrator known as “Montpellier France Health Hub, a metropolis for living well at all 4 stages of life” is based on two flagship actions in the Eurêka district and Ode à la Mer, with a shared operational objective of generalizing aids for autonomy quickly and over the long-term.
These two pioneering mechanisms and Smart City demonstrators, supported by the DIVD approach, will unite the many interested partners (local authorities, academic institutions, complementary health insurance providers, companies of all sizes, experts, associations, and users) that have already expressed their interest in joining the project, notably attracted by its potential for effective governance.

The smart “My Eurêka” platform
Launched in mid-2018, the platform proposes subscriptions for modular offerings for all residents in the cross-generational Eurêka district in Castelnau le Lez. Deployment will then take place on a large scale in response to elderly people’s desire to live at home under the best possible conditions for as long as they can.

Health / Independent Living Cluster
The Health / Independent Living Cluster in Lattes will serve as a showcase of Montpellier France Health Hub expertise in terms of autonomy and aging well. The goal is to consolidate an unprecedented public service dedicated to people’s independence and create an innovative new value chain to generate novel services, products, and markets, nationally and internationally, while generating jobs. The first programs will be delivered in late 2018.
